How does matching work?

It is random across all 37 states. If you added interests, we try for someone who shares one. You cannot pick the state of the person you meet. That may become a Premium option later.

What can the other person see about me?

Your state and what you type. Never your phone number, never a name. In a video chat they see your camera and hear your microphone.

Do I need to sign up or give a phone number?

No. Pick your state and start. We do not ask for your name, number or email. Your browser keeps a random code so we can block people who break the rules.

How do you keep chats safer?

Messages are checked for phone numbers, links and abuse. Anyone can report, block or skip. Reports from different people lead to a ban, and a moderator reviews them. Video is never recorded unless someone presses Report, and then only one still picture is kept.

Are the people real? Are there bots?

9jaLive does not use bots or fake profiles. Every person you meet is a real person using the site at that moment. When it is quiet you simply wait until someone joins, and the busiest time is in the evening.

Can I use 9jaLive on my phone?

Yes. It runs in your phone browser, nothing to install. For video, allow the camera and microphone when your browser asks.
